Quilting Workshops

Bi-weekly workshops are held throughout the year at the Holliston Senior Center on the second and forth Friday of each month from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Please call 508-429-1963 for more information.

7 Wonders Workshop (6 hours) $250.00
Starting with photos of your favorite buildings, flowers or people, you will transform them using a light box, Kona cotton, gel pens and 12 wt. thread into a framed piece of art or wall hanging. Learn to do redwork without a hoop and combine it with free motion quilting.

Mango Mix Workshop (6 hours) $250.00
Transform a Bali Pop or Tonga Treat and 2 border fabrics efficiently and effectively into a Mango Mix quilt of your own. This simple quilt makes any beginner look like a quilt designer. Only 1 1/8 yds of contrasting fabric for inner boarder and 1 ½ yds of outer border fabric is need to complete this quilt top in one day.

Linda's Clothesline Tote (6 hours) $250.00
Using 30, 2 ½" strips, sewn together diagonally and pressed in half into a very long strip, I demonstrate how to create a tote bag with clothesline and variegated thread. Covering the 100-foot length of clothesline takes time and endurance, but it's worth the effort when the tote comes to life right before your eyes. Leather handles and magnetic clasp can be added too.

Talks
Linda's Quilting Journey
My quilting journey from my first quilt done using Ginger Shear and solid cotton/poly blend fabrics to the present where including 9-patch, convergence, paper piercing, applique and free motion quilting.

Bethany Jacket
This jacket has bell sleeves and is not made on a sweatshirt base. This is a great way to use up your scrap pieces and create a unique jacket to wear. The first part of the class is learning about fitting the pattern to you. Next, is creating your unique outer fabric. On the second day learn to quilt and construct the jacket.

Using my pattern as a guide, I teach quilter's how to create their own personally-sized jacket pattern to be used with many other quilted jacket patterns. One pattern for many different style options.

Guilds: $60.00 per person
